| Kind of have a unique request regarding renting a boat. Been going to the Boulder Junction area for 11 years. Have rented from resort owners, marine centers, etc. without any issues. However, I find myself without boat rental options this year which is starting to get a little concerning with our July vacation approaching. Given I'm chasing muskies, the standard 14' aluminum resort boats have never been an option and have had some pretty decent and appropriately equipped 16.5 - 18ft Alumacraft, G3 and the like type boats. This year, decent boats are either all rented, lack features/options to support a week of musky fishing, or are only available for a partial week, etc. leaving me with nothing that will safely accommodate a couple of guys (me and my dad) and the mass of musky gear necessary for a week of fishing.
I'm looking for someone in the Vilas or surrounding area who would be interested/willing to rent me the type of boat necessary to support my one week of passion chasing muskies in the North Woods. If you have already gotten your main trip in or won't be fishing or would be willing to make your boat available July 24-31, please reach out! You'd come out of the week with a good chunk of $$$ ($500 or so) to pocket, make a couple boat payments, or feed your musky fishing addiction.
BTW, I fish on lakes that have nothing in the way of hazards and could give you a name/reference of a marine center/resort owner I have rented from for 11 years who will vouch I have never damaged any of his boats.
Again, if you are interested please hit me with a reply or call me to discuss.
Much appreciated!
Brad

Location: Oshkosh | Did you check with Rob Manthei in St. Germain, I know he has some boat rentals with trailers. http://www.outdoors911.com/reports/showthread.php?t=7524

Location: Not far enough north! | One thing you could do is bring the accesories that you want and jput on one of the rental boats that are "inadequate" We did that last year on LOTW when we had four guys on the trip. The rentals had 12V minnkotas on the front battery life of about 3-4 hours casting sucks. We took a 24V system with batteries and onboard charger in an action packer which was just set in the boat and we mounted our trolling motor on a 2x8 and used the same holes the resort did for their TM. Took about a half hour to install and the guys who had to fish out of that boat were happy all week...
Get creative its easy to put a couple things on a boat in pinch and then you will always have the accessories. |

| Thanks for the suggetions. Still looking for a more ideal option if anyone would be interested or knows someone where this scenario would work.
In the meantime, I will see what boat options are at Rob's resort for use in the area. I'll think on the creative approaches for adapting the resort boats but struggling a bit with the thought of doing that succesfully but might have to resort to it! |

| Why don't you just hire a guide? They will give a break on the rate for multiple day bookings. |

| Well, I know the water well enough and really don't need one. 7 days of a guide at a reduced rate will still be big $$$ and I don't think there is anyone who would guarantee to be available for 7 straight days, be available on-demand, and charge me anything short of $2000 - well more than all my gas, cabin rental, and food combined for the week. I've got a couple options of people with idle boats that and are happy to pocket some decent $$ for making their boat available. However, I still haven't locked one in that is fully squared away yet so I'm still looking for a final/confirmed option. Please keep reaching out! Thanks.

Location: Altoona IA | Might try Wave Rentals in Minocqua. They have nice Lunds and I believe a Yar Craft. Great people to work with too. |
