| What do you feel is the best clear coat for balsa baits. Etec is so soft, how about 2 ton epox? Thanks, esox mag |

Location: Hugo, MN | Envirotex is not soft, balsa is. If you are coating balsa with an epoxy, just know that it won't last too many fish. Big Game baits are made of balsa and I believe he said he uses envirotex EX-74, which is a uv inhibited version of regular etex, maybe a little harder. It's as good as you'll find. Balsa baits won't hold up to muskies for long, but it's tough to make super bouyant baits out of anything else. It's the price you pay. |

Location: Pigeon Forge TN. | Exactly what Knooter said. I also used Etex 74 and it is harder than the regular, but I have several balsa baits that have been chewed into just a wall hanger now. |

Contact Rick at FEW Products. They have a sample kit that you can buy. It's a 32 oz kit I believe. Shipped it's $32 I believe.
