| Sponge Bob (coming up on 2000): This is somewhat confusing. I've always known Virginia as the Cavaliers. I've also heard of them as being the Wahoos. Is the official mascot name Cavaliers or Wahoos. I believe the Wahoos name comes from the cheer: "Wa-hoo-wa." Is that right? Tom | |

| Correct, along w/ the fact that they drink like fish there, hence the name "Wahoo"! The Cavaliers is the official name for the books...[::)]
***Was at a Tech/UVA game when Don Strock played at Tech...3 minutes left in the game + you could see Tech laughing in the huddle...next play they fumbled + UVA ended up beating them in the last minute of play... been at least 25 yrs ago + is still clear as a bell! They have a great rivalry + looks to be a good one this yr. too.
