| I'm going to to the Bemidji area for the first time to musky fish, and wanted to know what to expect. I've fished Vermilion, and wanted to know the difference. Is it a different strain? Do they grow differently because of the forage? Is it an awesome place to fish?????

Location: Bemidji, Lake Vermilion | Fish - same as Vermilion as far as strain, they are all Leech Lake strain. Bemidji has similar forage as Vermilion overall. Fish grow large over here just like on Vermilion. Structures are totally different as there is very little structure on Bemidji, its either an open water or weedline bite. You can fish miles of the same shoreline and have a chance of contacting a muskie or two literally anywhere. Of course there ARE better spots than others, but what fun would it be if we told you those! |
