a friend of mines storage locker was broken into this weekend- his lures, slingblades, daiwa cvz's and 2 humminbird units were ripped off. this was in northwest wisconsin/holcombe area, so if you see or hear anything that seems suspicious, please email me. it's really lousy when this happens, and this weekend is his opener and he's got no tackle now... thanks, steve   [email protected]

JMO but have him setup a keyword search on eBay for a few of the larger items. Many have been caught. Also keep an eye on Craigs list too for the items. Some of these morons even put the entire lot on at one time for a fast sale. Good luck.

Since your buddy is using a "storage locker" and may not live up North....and might be coming from the South....(say via Milwuakee) I'd be happy to lend the guy a couple of rods and a couple trays full of baits until he gets stuff sorted out. Just send me a PM and I will make it happen....nobody's opener should get messed up. Naturally, us Southern boys have just completed our third weekend down here. Marty

Them junkies will steal anything to get a quick buck to get high. I hope you find them. I worry about this all the time when staying at hotels, when fishing out of town. If you need to use some lures let me know and I will ship them to you.

esox69,
Sad news to say the least. Truly hope they get caught.
I don't lend lures out as I would just as soon send your buddy a couple brand new customs to keep. Kinda like putting a penny in a new wallet, ( it ain't broke). That way he has his tackle started again.
PM me ASAP with an address to send them too and it is a done deal. He will have them in time for the opener. I will send them priority.

Does he have insurance? Sometimes it will cover loss, although it does take awhile. I totally sucks when someone stoops so low, a couple years ago someone cleaned out our boat, even took my prescription fishing sunglasses!

Wow you guys are super! This is the guy your all talking about  i have been spending the day re wiring my boat because they not only took my electronics  but they butchered every wire trying to get my tilt and trim off .  When they couldnt figure that out they went out of their way to make it junk.  Im from the Chippewa Falls area and they got 2 cvz 253s 1 cvz 300f',1-cvz 300a, 2- 8'6"sling blades 2- Thorne Brothers Predator 8'6" both in the same weight as the sling blades.  One of the sling blades has printed on the shaft (custom made for demo) and the date it was made and it is more purple then blue.  They got both my hummingbird side/down scan 1 798 and then 1-of the bigger ones from the counsel 1198 i cant remember if thats the model but its the middle sized one.  They didnt take the high speed transducer but they cut the cables on both .  They took my glider set in Lakewood box thats red with the words MUSKY CHIMES in big letters on both sides.  The box contained every hellhound/hellpuppy  made lots and lots of mantas, Warlocks and all my Amma Bamma lures were in this box as well 3 total.  They also took my ss prop and the foot control to my power drive trolling motor.  any info at all about these items would be greatly appreciated.  As far as you guys chippin in to make me have a nice opener i really thank you for the kindness you guys have offered me here but i really wouldnt feel right taking  from any of you just because of my hardships.  I love this sport more than anything besides my family and the people who share the water with me are the most amazing group in the world.  I am doing my best to make this sport my career and it is  guys like you that keep me focused on making my dream real someday.  I have fallen on hard times as of the last year or so but up till now i still had my musky stuff and it was good stuff.  I spent years saving for most of it and it was all i had that I was proud to own.  I still have one rig left a customized Luna 300 double 10 defeater on a thorne brothers C-Series. I will have to make it work for everything for now but at least im not totally without.  Anyone who might see this stuff turn up send me an email at [email protected].   If the people who did this are reading this listen up.  You better pray that the cops find you before i do.  You think that stealing a mans Musky fishing stuff is OK then someone needs to show you just how wrong you are!  I am not an understanding person when it comes to thieves.  I will hunt you till i find you thats my promise and when i do you will regret the day you crossed this Musky fisherman!  I doubt they will ever see this because dirt balls usually avoid places like this but you never know.  The rest of you are good people and your support is very welcome and i thank you for it from the bottom of my heart

The offer still stands. Once you try this bait you'll love it and you have alot of space in your tackle box right now. Hopefully karma will right itself and you will get a personnal best this season. Mark

MuskyChimes , a few thoughts for you. A very wise person explained to me that my refusing help was stupid and selfish on my part. Like you I felt accepting help with ANYTHING was imposing on friends. The wise person said I was denying others a chance to feel good themselves. Still isn't easy for me but I'm much better !
Think about it and see if you agree. I know Stan and he's always stepping up to help anyone and support projects far away from his Tennessee home. Marty [ Junkman] also means what he says. Others I'm sure as well . One of these days I'll get a chance to meet Marty in person , buy him a nice dinner ......... just because he really gets "IT".

Sorry to hear about your loss MuskyChimes, my equipment being stolen is one of my biggest fears when leaving my boat unattended. Considering the amount of money musky gear costs, it would be wise to get it properly insured.
Anyways, I know there are a lot of great people on this site and I would not hesitate to take them up on the offers. (All but that scavenger guy just because of the Go Vikings b.s.) Good luck to you AND the Packers this season (provided there is one)!

ok im in what i really could use is a used electronic unit. Im not asking for what i lost what i really need is a graph that tells depth and temp. im not talking about a wonderful thing by any means it could be a old cracked relic , it only needs to show me depth and temp till i can find something down the road that i can afford. If you know of such a unit please email me at [email protected] thanks

If this had happened before I traded my boat in on a car for my Son to help him out, I would have removed my unit and gladly sent it to you. It was hardly used.
Painting lures all these years didn't let me afford enough time to go fishing much.
I am sure there is someone on this board that can help you out. Lots of good people on here. Sorry I can't help you out with that one but the offer still stands on the lures.
Wishing you the best,

Probably have more than enough on this thread already, but this is a good time for everybody to check what their insurance covers and what it does not. I had three rods broken by Homeland Security guys at the airport and my insurance company paid me for every cent that they cost, and with no deductible. My stuff is covered whether in the boat or not. Obviously too late for this guy, but there is little use in calling people names who have clearly gone past the point of having it hurt their feelings. The answer is to check your coverage...feel good about what you have, or change it to something that you like.

Hey Guys, I agree with Junkman, check your coverage!! With fishing equipment the best way to cover it is to schedule it on your policy. Just like you schedule your guns, jewelry, etc. Rates aren't usually bad and typically you get worldwide coverage and deductibles are up to you. Sorry to hear about the lost equipment, may that person never set the hook again.

I would love to tell everyone that my rods and reels were recovered about a half mile from the place they were being stored by an old woman out on a walk. She found them in the ditch and she had the brains to realize they shouldn't have been their and she brought them to the storage mans house(the only other house on that road) to ask if he had lost fishing poles. The only idea i can conclude is that they had problems fitting them into a small car so they ditched them literally. Either that or they were just idiots who felt the need to ruin someones stuff but that makes less sense then eating an apple with your rear. All i know is that i got my rods with the reels still on them back and i didnt think that was ever going to happen. I spent the better part of the evening walking up and down the ditches for the rest of my stuff but the only stuff i found was the nut to my prop and a dead rabbit. Its not everything but its the hardest for me to replace and it makes the entire situation much more bearable for now thats for sure. As for the fact i didnt have insurance i have fallen on the hardest times ive ever known in the last few months and i couldnt afford the payments no matter how small i can barely afford to feed myself these days. I let it laps about a month and a half ago not by chose but because i had to. Im still have a missing plenty of my stuff and would love it if you guys keep your eyes peeled for the stuff i listed above. HERES TO DUMB CRIMINALS! Anyone out their have a foot control for a power drive im lookin.!
