The wife and I will be moving up to Ironwood, Michigan at the end of my stepdaughters senior year, next year. Just wondering if any of you know of any musky lakes in that area, in Michigan. Have the Wisconsin side covered so don't need that. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

If my user name doesn't give it away I grew up there. All my muskie fishing was on the Wisconsin side. They did try introducing several lakes with muskie but wouldn't waste my time fishing them. You have Lake Gogebic for sewer trout I mean walleye LOL... PM me with any questions.

Haven't fished the area at all, but Iron county has some lakes with decent stocking records. You can check out the stockings with this link: http://www.michigandnr.com/fishstock/default.asp

As Jason said, Iron Co. has some stocked waters. Gogebic Co. has the Cisco Chain which are natural Muskie lakes as well as Peavy, Michigamme and the Menominee river.

On the Michigan side some decent little lakes are Eel and Moraine. A 50"+ was taken from Moraine a few years back. The Cisco chain produces a lot of ski's. In Wisconsin, try Island Lake and Moose Lake not to mention Gile Flowage which is always good. When you get to Mercer there are a lot of musky lakes to choose from. I love the area.

A little east and south of Ironwood between Marenisco/Watersmeet there's a good amount of lakes with muskies in them some named some not.
It's just a matter of exploring my buddies PB came out of a little lake on the
Michigan side.

You need to hook up with the Boundary Waters Musky Club, they will be your best source for local info.
