The hooks used by Phantom can certainly be sharpened to make them extremely sharp, but they bend out very easily. Does anyone replace the hooks on 7.5" Phantom softtails? I would think the perfect hook would have a short shank, wide gap with a thin diameter that is strong....do these trebles exist?

I haven't seen them tangle each other..... If anything the rear hook sticks to the body once and a while, but I havent seen it enough to annoy me.

I take the two front hooks of, cut the screw eyes and sand them down, put a new screw eye in between the two removed ones, double up splitrings and use owner ST-36 size 2/0 (about as wide as 3 or 4/0s). I dont screw out the two front screw eyes, i leave the actual screw part in since it adds a little weight.

It makes it sink alot slower, easier to fish, nicer action. Its my best bait for pike, my biggest was 41'' 17,2lb
