I'm looking for a new sonar for the front of the boat. I've got a good hds unit at the helm but am looking for something mid price range for the front. Any suggestions??

What is mid price range? Get an HDS5 and network them.

Lowrance 5X DSI with down scan, ant Fleet Farm for $249 after rebate. Might get me one for the new Tuffy X170.

Reviews on the Lowrance 5X DSI aren't the greatest.
Virtually everyone complains that it's difficult to use.

Plain lowrance 5x adjust the transducer down angle correctly and if you can read it will write $139 480 x 480. On a side not I was 100 yds away when you caught the nice one. The only one happier than me was you.
