| 2002 First WI Chapter of Muskies Inc. Annual Muskie Tournament Summary
It was another great year for the First WI Chapter Annual Muskie Tournament.
First WI Board Member, Bob Shakal, took top honors with four fish out of the Chippewa River - 43", 40", 39", 37.5" - for a total of 55.5 points. Fine job, Bob.
89 fish were caught by 68 anglers.
Big fish honors went to Lee Luther who caught a 50" beauty out of Dairyland Flowage. It was Lee's first Muskie ever and to catch it in a tournament no less…way to go Lee!
Other big fish for the tournament included a 49.25" out of Holcombe Flowage by First WI President Joe Heil and 48"ers by First WI board members Len Rubesch (Holcombe Flowage) and Rick Mechelke (Chippewa River). Congrats to all of you.
There were 277 contestants in this year's event.
First WI would like to thank our sponsors and contestants for supporting this event. It is our chapter's most significant source of revenue and gives us the ability to provide fish for stocking into our area waters.
