Two-Pounders

Where do people get two-pounders? I live in Pa, so I've never been able to walk into a tackle shop or retail store and get anything larger than Pounders. But I never see them listed on any website.

I don't plan on using it, I'd just like it for a novelty.

I've seen a few listings on eBay recently... but I agree, never seen one locally.

You can order them direct from MI, and some of the online tackle shops too.

I guess I should have said Thorne Brothers, I’ve seen them in the shop hanging, but not on their online catalog. I guess one would assume that you’d be able to order them online too. I bet if you emailed them, they could hook you up. Sorry for any confusion there, I may have jumped the gun.

Not a problem. I'm sure they would be willing to send me one. I'd just like to see a picture of one. I hate purchasing any product blindly, even if it's just going to sit on the shelf.

It is when you don't own the proper rod/reel/line that will throw it! When I get a chance to fish in MN I'll be using one, but for now it's just part of the collection.

Thanks, I might take you up on that offer. How much and what condition?

Could someone post some pics of two-pounders? I've yet to see a decent picture of one.

If Tim doesn't have the special one I would shoot Andy from Shack Attack an email. I recently purchased a Mammoth Sue directly from him after forgetting to grab one at the MN show. He emailed me pics. Great to work with.

Lol Bushy, I wish I knew how to post pics I'd post my collection of giant rubber. It really is amazing how small of a fish will eat a mammoth sue or 2lber. Last fall on mile lacs I stuck a 40" and a 44" 20min apart on a cisco 2lber both in the 8. But the fall before I had a week stretch with 9 fish over 45" with the biggest 3 from 49-49.75" all on a walleye mammoth sue.

I'm not sure if I would be up to it or not, but I KNOW my current equipment is not. For the guys that use the Mammoth Sues or 2 Pounders, do you feel that you DO catch fish you would not have caught on a Pounder?

I guess the answer would be yes, because why would you put yourself through that abuse otherwise! My past and current thought is the Pounder is "big enough" that a fish wouldn't ever turn it down for being too small. Wondering what your thoughts on that are. Definately a test of angler and equipment!

I only throw them in the fall and olny on lakes where muskies feed on LARGE forage. Yes I feel I'm getting bit using mammoths/2lbers over pounders there were other guys fishing the same structure using pounders and not getting bit as often as I was. I tried throwing them last summer but I'm thinking the fish hadent started to key in on the larger forage yet. And I'm clearly nuts I mean for god sake the friking bait weighs 24-29oz who in there rite mind says I think I'll cast that for 5-7 days straight.

What happens when they come out with 3 pounders!?!?!
I have some lead in time before I feel I am in "musky shape" and throwing for a while.....not sure about these big baits and body wear....would need to upgrade tackle too....

What is the overall return on investment vs. enjoying the fishing part??

I'm not really sure what your asking. I love catching big skies no matter what huge baits little baits it dosent matter. Sometimes they want a BIG meal and that's when I come into play. Just to clarify big isn't a DCG or
10" Jake think huge! Monster madusa 14" Jake 2lber or a super model burned till it hurts. I just Love catching them.
