Location: APPLETON, WI | Picked up a custom Squirko locally (thanks, JJ). This is the first Squirko I've got for my arsenal and it looks like a great jerkbait/glider. Anyone have any luck with these?? Any tips/tricks for working them? Really excited to try this one out this season. My fiancee was with me when I bought it and she picked out this color... I asked her what she thought the lure color was called and she came up with "A freak of nature". I like it. If it turns into a fish magnet, I'll like it even more.

Location: madison wisconsin | I bought a couple of these at the shows in 2010. Finally got some help on getting them to work, now I love these baits! They don't have the same "cadence" (sp?) as most gliders. They go up, down, side to side. They can dance. Now they are one of my favorite baits. Now the season a week away can't wait to throw the baby squirko's.
The actual name for the color is Acid Forg. Looks awesome... PSYS I do like the name she gave it, it fits well!!! |

Yes they are alot different than other gliders but they have a wicked action to them that drives muskies absolutely crazy. When u throw them. Hold on!!! They will crush the lure.

Ahhhh, Acid Frog is cool, too... maybe I'll pick up a baby model and give that one a try, too. I'll be sure to give this some practice this season and we'll see how it goes. Hopefully, I stick a few pigs with 'em! |

Location: Nowhere near where I should be | I like slow deliberate slack line twitches with a few quick ones every now and again with a good rise and pause then smack! I have caught many fish on this bait , even on the leader tied to it. nice choice by the way. |

| That is my custom color. Acid Frog it was his top seller at the shows this year. I had prototypes last year and killed them on it. Babys as well as reg. size.
I think the only store that has them in stock is Dorn's Madison and the Baby Jerko's are sold out for the year in that color. You should have no problem catching fish with that bait. Make sure you use a straight wire leader with it, they run better that way.
Good Luck

Location: 412 | I've had a rip using my orange/sucker colored one... I think I'll plan on using it more this season... The squirko is a weird lure to get it to work I think, takes some time in order to get the right look you want. |

| Make sure you have a split ring on the front of the bait. All the new ones come with them on. If you are using the reg. size use a XH jerkbait rod. I use a 7'6" XH from Musky Innovations. Just give it short sharp taps. It is not ment to go side to side perfectly it is ment to go up down, side to side and change directions you will trigger more strikes this way. The more erratic the action is the more fish are going to eat it. If you are using the baby sizes use a MH rod it makes a big diff.
good luck

Location: SE Wisconsin | Agree with Jeff, solid wire leader and mine didn't come with split rings on the eye, but an addition, I too, have done and agree is necessary to get the most out of the action. Side to side, up, down, all around and gosh is she pretty! |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Baby Squirko is my go to bait this Opener. I loved the Undertaker but it's going to stay in the boat this Opener. After talking with Bill from Monster Lures at the Madison Muskie School and watching Jeff work that bait in the pool I can see it's the real deal. I have the full size Squirko and caught plenty of fish on them through the years but I never could get my hands on the Baby Squirko. Now thanks to Monster Lures I had the chance to order up all the choice colors.
