Do any of you keep a boat totem, or good luck charm in the boat? Currently I have "Al" a small porcelin hippo whose good luck powers have faded with time. Thinking of adding this guy, but not sure...

Just Bertha. When she's in the boat you're never skunked.

I have a Firetiger bulldawg that was bought in mid 90's. after being abused by many fish, was retired to being a jinx bait, hid in one of the boats on our group fishing trips, to see who would end up with it at the end of trip after trip. I guess it's just a reminder of all the good trips we had, We don't all get together on trips as times change. It has become a good luck charm in my boat ever since and I will never give it up!

I have one that goes into my boat every year, and back out when I sell it. It's a hand held GPS that never gets turned on. I have another that's sorta mobile and difficult to get in a boat, but usually is good luck for putting fish in the boat. It's called a 'Slamr'.

If you add the Chipbacca to your boat... I'll be more than happy to let you borrow my Spudtrooper if the wookie doesn't work!   Let me know!

I had a petrified can of Beer Nuts that Sled left in the boat when he sold it to me.  I had to toss them out, and haven't replaced them yet.  I reckon you could say my buddy is my good luck charm.  I ain't never caught a good fish that he hasn't been in the boat with me.

This is him making sure the fish doesn't jump out of the net.

We carry a broken measuring (cheap bamboo with yellow tape holding a sewing tape to it) stick that was a buddy of ours and we found at a pull out spot from a river we fish and a regular bulldawg (black and orange) that was casted over my far side trolling line (inline planer so it was even farther away) by a clown on the pier, I tightened down my drag and it was game on - I thought I was gunna reel in his whole rod I won.

My favorite is a tall blonde named Debbie!
Of course, her prerequisite is that it be sunny and atleast lower 80's for her to join me!

There's a bufoon who obviously doesn't know me. One thing I lack not at all, and in fact am totally surrounded by daily... is high technology.

My case for a photo shoot tomorrow...and portable office at the hotel.

Afraid of technology....that's sorta funny. I am, however, totally afraid of Slamr.

Just cast over by that rock....

I have an old horseshoe head looking fuzzy grub jighead in my boat. On a trip to Deer Lake, a buddy of mine took off my bait during lunch break and put that thing on. Stayed in the boat ever since. We also have a couple of items that move from boat to boat. One is an old dear antler, the other is a broken plactic leg off a toy deer, horse or something. It get's passed around whenever we make trips up north.

The plastic deer leg is still in the boat. When I washed the boat for winter storage, I left it in there. I'm sure it will make an appearance in another boat soon.

without pause the 1st thing I duct tape on the front of our boat is a 25 cent stuffed multi colored fish with google eyes . My daughter won it when she was about 5 or 6 and she's 15 now. Thats my official Manitou good luck charm. MD

I have a small stuffed pimp. Before the batteries died you could hit his head and he'd say nice things like "where's my money XXXXX?" Sometimes I let the dog carry it around.

i am very guilty of sacraficial boat charms.
when my step son was younger , we would chose a charm and install it onto the front of the boat, if we got skunked too many days in a row, a fire was built and a sacrafice was made to the fish gods.
note the troll dolls really have a major smoke issue
burnt so far but not limited too
trolls, hulk hogan, spider man, a few wrestlers , 3 gumby's, a few hockey bobble heads, sesame street dudes.....
this yr it's the old california raisins, the whole crew of them.
