Heading up to fish for some white bass this weekend with my dad and a group of guy's. Never made the trip before, any suggestions?
I know there are Musky's in the river up there, might have to bring a rod for some Ski's!!![:p]

Any help would be appreciated!!!

I go by there alot on my way to and from work, but don't hear much about the river after the white bass spawning 'run' in the Spring. I know there is good walleye fishing, some pretty decen pike and the odd muskie, too!!

It's a little early for the fall whitebass run. We have to have some cooler weather to bring the water temps down some. The fall bite isn't as good as the spring bite, but when you find 'em it will be one after the other. The best fishing is down toward Lake Poygan. You will be hard pressed to find muskys in the river, there are a few in Poygan and Lake Butte des Morts but good luck on them also. They did plant some this year and plan on some every year for the next ten years, but this will take some time, there is a lot of water down there.
For more up to date info on the Wolf River, go to lakelink.com and type in whatever lake or river you want. Lots of good info there.

I would call Ma's Bait and Tackle in Fremont at (920)446-2444. They get a lot of traffic and will hopefully let you know how the white bass bite is. They are west of town on Highway 10 I think.

My fiance's parents live on the Wolf between Fremont and New London, I have caught some nice pike and walleyes this time of year, but have yet to hook into a muskie. If you go up around Shawano you can try the Wolf River Pond north of the RR bridge, every year they pull a couple of big girls out of there.

The whities were just hammering on the river here(WI river) yesterday as the Emerald shiners were making a move up river. They were hitting at my creeper and Pacemaker all evening. There were some huge boils and I got a couple big pike in the midst of them, but no green ones. If I would have had a Pop'R or a little zara spook, those whities would have been a blast!!! Try something on top if going this weekend, otherwise little beetle spins just ripped can be awesome, as are the smallest shad raps ripped. Good luck!!!

My first legal came from the Wolf right by Gill's Landing. We discovered them while white bass fishing in the spring, one tried to seperate me from a bass!
Work the sloughs, current breaks, downed timber, walleye fishing rafts that still may be in the river, and back water areas (eddies next to main current). Treat the current edges like structure.
