Location: Columbus, Georgia | I understand that Cave Run is 17 feet over summer pool. There are no usable docks, as the gangways to the docks are covered with water. The trailers must back down the ramps in order to launch boats. There are very high winds today, and tonight a cold front moves in.
I would imagine it's about one of the worst scenarios that could be for a Musky tournament.
The lake has ostensibly gone from 8,300 acres to around 13,000. I would not want to be fishing it today or tomorrow ....

| Congrats to the winner and all that caught fish. Used to fish all the events and was planning on fishing this year but...don't feel so bad now. I cannot imagine fishing in those conditions. Very familiar with the Cave but don't recognize any pics from the tourney. A dandy fish for any lake and any conditions! |

Location: Kentucky | Well, I had a blast! This was my first PMTT event. Conditions were alittle bizarre 2 say the least. lol The Cave went up another 2.6 feet last night and the marina walkway was underwater. They were takin people over 2 shore in a boat. lol Shes about 20feet over summer pool now and when we left there was still water pourin down the hills. We had 88 boats and around 160 of the best musky fisherman in the country. Only 18 musky caught. I've got a hard head and I refused 2 go back in the creek arm with all the other 87 boats. LMAO My partner was going 2 kill me Saturday. I lost a mid 40incher about 20feet from the boat and then I blew a low 30inch fish on the eight.. :( Story of my life! My spot got really muddy lastnight and all of the musky must have went 2 see the other musky fisherman. lol Congratulations to Steve. 2 fish saturday and a nice 49incher today. He's on top of his game I must say. I'm just a fellow MuskyNut whenever I have the chance 2 be. I've watched alot of these guys on all the websites for 10years, read all their Musky mags, watched their dvds, went 2 the shows, and watched their seminars. I got the opportunity 2 hang out with Tony Grant, Gregg Thomas, Groucho, Dave, and Nash for 4 days. Thx 4 the good times guys. I also met alot of nice people from the northern part of our musky world. I hope they have a safe trip back and they enjoyed themselves. God willing I will b blessed enough to do it again next year. Thank you PMTT. Chris Leffler |

| It is nice to see what a real 49 looks like. How many times have you seen people claim the same as a 50? Too Many in my opinion. Nice Fish by the way and congratulations. |

| Hey Guys, Thanks for the congrats! I still can't believe I pulled this one off without Mike! Conditions were challenging to say the least. The seas were angry my friends over 20 feet high! I had some action prefishing catching a couple trolling baby depthraiders through the shad, and one fish casting a Jb rattler super shallow, all low to mid 30's and all on wed. I didn't have action thurs or fri. I decided to troll sat because I was without Keyes and figured I had a better chance with 2 lines down. After 7 hours without a touch, on a whim I decided to move up tight and try casting for the last hour or so and caught the 30" on the 5th cast. I went super shallow on day 2 and had the 31" at about 8:15 and the 49 ate about 8:45. both were in inches of water and ate my lucky Jb Rattler. Interesting enough not another fish on the board on rattlebaits?? The 49 was a beast and the largest fish that I have seen in a decade of fishing the Cave. Perfect timing I would say. Should make for some interesting TV as I did get a little pumped up when the big girl hit the bag!! Just wish Keyes would have been there to share in the excitement, looking forward to Eagle River. |

Well, I would have to say that one fish is good, two might be lucky, but 3 fish looks like a trend. The fish always follow the water up.
But, River Musky, dang, I have been reading your posts this spring and you seem to have developed a trend too...I am thinking I would rather take pictures of junk on shore, than to give reports of a group of 40"+ fish that I had and lost...
is that like 4???I can lend you my yellow handle file if you need it |

Location: Kentucky | LOL Thx FSF for makin me feel special!! LOL I always prefer a water release with the bigger girls. Say like 10-20feet from the boat. lol I seem 2 enjoy the little 30inchers so i can just flip them up into the boat. :) I stayed deep and was seein some good fish. The trap bite in the cove that I was seein nice fish in was simply impossible. The fish were atleast 300yards up in the creekmouth and there was no way I could get 2 them without a chainsaw... Story of my life!! |

| Man what a weekend even though my boat did not get a fish. Anyone who has not given the PMTT a shot is missing out. Sure it is expensive but the things you can learn from the caliber of fishermen that you get to talk to and fish against is remarkable.
I was right near a lot of folks that caught fish. it was exciting.
The fish still have to eat no matter what the conditions are.
Congrats to Steve Genson what a fishermen and a super person. |

| A job well done indeed... excellent job!
I on the other hand was celebrating my middle daughters wedding so yes... it was truly a GREAT WEEKEND indeed!! Steve's a hell of a fisherman.

Good job. |
