Hey guys, I’m looking for suggestions for a trolling motor for a 2006 Ranger 619. Can I get away with a 70 lb trolling motor? How about 80? Thanks.

80 will work fine, most guys I know running 619/620's run the 80 or 101.

Yes, 70 or 80 will do fine, but bigger is always better in your case, especially with a boat like the 619. I think you'll find a 36 volt system, 101lbs. of thrust will come in handy sometime or another.

Hiya,

I would agree with TJ on this one. The 619 is a big boat....having the extra umph when you need it will definitely be a plus, and when you are in calmer conditions, you will actually use less battery power than a smaller unit, which equates to more time on the water between charges.

I have a 2006 620 w/ 101Pd Maxxum Pro. If your fishing lots of current or river locations then I would go as high as possible. I love the 101pd. I can fish Detroit River all day with all the power I need. 80 will work as well but I wouldn't look at anything less than 80. For me, I don't think I'll own anything less than 101pd.
