Location: SE Wisconsin | Excellent inputs from Paul. One question, though... He suggested fish in Canada may come in shallow to digest, but not so much Wisco fish. I'm confused by that - what's the difference? I believe musky living in the chillier midwest will often seek shallower/warmer water to increase their metabolism... food for thought, lazy follows unwilling to eat at your feet because their already full. |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | I believe the comment is a generality. Compared to WI the fish in Canada will lay up in the shallows more. Just like the MN fish. You just don't see 10-20 fish in WI laying up on a reef like you do on Vermillion. |

They don't need to. The waters of N WI are so much warmer, all they need to do is move up higher in the water column and there is the warmer water for their digestion they need. |

| Gee, I thought the shallows were up higher in the water column. Now I'll have to get that fixed too... |

Not nearly as interesting as if you fished with Paul! Highly recommended! |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | +1 on that Travis. I've learned a lot from Paul and had a great time everytime. Worth every penny to fish with him.
Interesting to see Fred J on that chat. R.I.P. Freddy. R.I.P. to both of the Johnson brothers actually. Shocking that Eric passed away too. Both too young.

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | I thought the same Jono on Fred. I am glad I took the time to chat with Fred at the Point show one year. RIP Fred!
That chat was from quite some time ago when things were a bit different on the boards. Not sure when exactly that chat happened, but it must be close to 10 years ago. |

Location: north central wisconsin | I didn't know that Eric had passed. That is a shock to me. He and I had plans to fish lake x in memory of his bro but we never connected. Sure do regret that. Used to see Freddy and Eric alot out on the water, and had some nice long talks at the landing late at night. Will miss those guys. RIP. |
