Sponge,

Somebody's computer has the dreaded Klez32 virus. Your e-mail addy is in their address book, and it is getting sent out as if it came from you. Not your problem. I get e-mails all the time from people that didn't send them. My ISP scans all e-mail for viruses, and I have Norton AntiVirus, so I am notified if the e-mail is infected. I just delete it, permanently. The e-mail will also have an attachment. I never, ever open an attachment, if I am not 100% sure where it came from.

Hope this helps ease your anxiety.

Tight lines, and good Venison Sausage(it will be at Cass!),

I too have a program loaded on my pc which scans for viruses and alerts me to their presence. The program actually refuses the infected message and informs the sender that a virus was detected.
Even with the virus scan program, I never open any attachments unless I'm certain what they are and where they came from. Was entirely too painful getting that Klez32 virus purged from my pc before I obtained the virus protection.

Edited this message as I forgot to mention that from what I've heard about the Klez32 virus it differs from most other viruses in that you don't actually have to open any attachments to become infected. If the virus attaches itself to any file on a pc, the pc is infected regardless if any attachments were opened or not.

Go to www.download.com and get the free klez download to clean your computer.

The free downloads can clean a pc, but it will not prevent future re-infection. For this you need to load a virus detection/prevention program on a pc.

sponge, I get the same thing but I know these mails aren't from the people who they want me to believe that sent these mails. I receivbed that klez virus several times a day over the past months but all of a sudden it stopped. Klez is a worm-virus that keeps sending mails to everyone in your contact list. Add a contact with name 0000000 and email 00000 and this will stop mails being sent out. Windows asks first if this contact is valid because it doesn't recognize the email address.

Thanks dudes...wife did a scan + update + we were clean as a whistle! Seems the e-mail Tone got included the word "DID" instead of "DUDE"...last e-mail I sent out was on 9-4-02, so who knows what it is. I delete any + all e-mail meself unless I know for sure where it comes from, so I hope this thing expires! [:(]

I've been having the same problem. I kept getting messages saying I was sending e-mails infected with the KLEZ worm. I have the Mcaffe Anti-Virus software and scanned all my files until I was blue in the face[:(] but it never found anything. I phoned Mcafee last night and they went through everything with me to verify my machine was clean. He told me all the error messages was called "spoofing" which means someone who has my e-mail address in their address book on their comuter is sending out these messages for me on my behalf and if there is a problem, the error messages bounce back to me. I really am sick of opening my email and having dozens of MAILER-DAEMON...etc messages. I've starting using the "BLOCK MESSAGE FROM SENDER" on all the MAILER-DAEMON...etc messages and that has cut down on all the bogus messages I've been receiving. [:)]

GOOD LUCK!
