Steve Worrall ? Can I get an 8 1/2 foot rod in my storage locker or is it too long.

I was able to put my 60" Muskie Measure up as far as I could and I measured 53" from the end of that to the end of the locker. Total 113 inches = 9 feet 5 inches. So to answer your question - YES!!!!!!

8'6" is asking a lot out of a mags rod locker. I can fit an 8' in mine, but it requires a little bending. It may be easier on a tiller model, because mine is a console. The fiberglass tends to rough up the rod tip even on a 7'6" rod in my boat. Simple solution (Okuma EVX rod). If you carry several rods in the locker they like to hang up on one another as you try to pull them out.

I can put 8'6 rods in my locker. I have 6 and they fit just fine. I use rod sleeves to protect the finish etc. I have a feeling I could fit a 9 footer but I have not tried it. Mines a tiller.
