| You said you're a lefty, want two reels to cover all situations and have no budget. I'd get a Calcutta 401TE and a Revo Toro 61HS. You can find a TE on Ebay for $335 pretty often, or buy a lightly used one for a little less. You can find a Toro 61HS for $179 with free shipping on Ebay almost daily. Those reels will cover pretty much every application except burning double-10 or larger bucktails VERY fast like you can do with a trinidad. These are the reels I run right now and I use the TE for throwing big bucktails and use the Toro 61HS for pretty much every other application (smaller bucktails, jerk baits, gliders, topwater, rubber, etc.). I like the extra line pick up you get with the 6.3 to 1 gear ratio on the Toro. Pair the TE up with an 8'6" XH rod and the Toro 61HS with an 8' H rod and you'll be set for most applications. At least that's what works for me.

| Forgot to say, the Revo Toro 61 on sale at Rollie and Helens and Joe's Sporting Goods right now is not the reel I'm talking about. That reel has a 5.4 to 1 gear ratio. The 61HS has a 6.3 to 1 gear ratio, which is what gives you the extra line pick up over the TE which has a 5.0 to 1 gear ratio. |
