So, just sitting here looking out at the squirrels, turkey's, our resident rooster pheasant, and thinking about muskies, and structure, especially the type that's produced the most fish. What's your most productive muskie structure? (send GPS Coord's. via PM)

For me it's probably cabbage weed edge's - deep side.

Also, why do you believe they are most productive?

I think cabbage is productive because of the bait fish attraction to cabbage weeds, and the fact its a good ambush location.

So - lets hear your thoughts, if yours is not listed add it.

Have fun!

Deep side of weed edges for me, followed by downed timber. Why? Probably just a result of that being where most people fish. It's easy to fish a weed edge, especially when you can see it. I'd bet there are planty of muskies in the middle and on the inside edge, too. But very few people actually fish there. Ask Mr Worrall about fishing with a jig/creature in the slop.

I dont have a trolling motor yet so all my fishing is done drifting. I like to fish cabbage and since boat control is tough I usally fish right in the jungle.

Open water basin without knowing baitfish are present. Baitfish or not the muskies/walleyes live out there!

I think the structure that I prefer depends entirely on the basis structure within the lake. For example, On my favorite lake. I very much preffer the shallow inside weed edge with either a sand or racky bottom (preffered rocky). Reason? I have seen plenty of big loaner fish who will patrol the inner and the outer edges, but I like to fish with the most oppertunity to put a fish in the boat regarless of size. Don't get me wrong I like catching monsters, but fighting a few small to mid size ones along the way make you really appreciate the "PIG". I see numbers on the inside weed edges, I have seen "wolf packs" before on the inside edge up to 5 fish in a small location, hunting together.... When it comes down to musky fishing, if i can at all possible put numbers in my favor.... I will.
