If using a size 5 solid ring on the leader. What size split ring would be best on the lures?

I was wondering about small baits. So a #5 solid ring & split ring. size 7 on the big stuff...

I will have to get some size 5 split rings. All I have now is the older Joe Bucher size 7 rings. I don't like the new "shiny" ones he has. I was looking at the Wolverine Tackle "Super Rings". Does anyone use these split rings?

I like the triple rings and depending on the eye, if its large enough I will use them. If the eye does not permit free movement, then its a Bucher (shiny or not). I'm betting that a even weak cheap split ring is still stronger than any snap. I have both #5s and #7s Wolverines rings.. I almost always use a #5 welded ring on the leader unless its a real heavy wire >300# test (.030 wire or better). At that diameter its less likely to snake through a good ring and come off.

After seeing a pic of the wolverine rings I'm not sure a #5 would fit some of my smaller lures. Will probably just have to use a shiny Bucher or find something else. just looked on the Wolverine site. I like those stealth black rings....

Beside Bucher what are some other good rings?

I have used both Wolverine and Bucher, both are very good and I change them both according to the size of the eye.

Where do you guys get your solid welded rings to put on your leader ? I'm thinking about switching from a snap to a split ring.

Stealth Tackle offers solid welded rings. I have some available at Musky Tackle Online, as I'm sure other retailers do as well. Or direct from Stealth.
