Location: Going Fishing | I looked up the Crestliner 1700 Super Hawk, which looks like it might be in your price range.
Here is a link, as they don't have a price unless you call.

Here's another one for comparison.

| Does he want to go brand new? You can certaintly find very nice fiberglass boats in that range a few years old. Ranger 619s some 620s, Tuffys, Tritons. |

| Thanks for some of the options. He is looking at some used models as well but just want to keep the post clean from people trying to advertise their boat so it doesn't get frozen. We live in Indiana and have only a few places around us to look at boats so just trying to see what features people like on certain models. |

Location: On my favorite lake! | Alumacraft Navigator and Dominator. The boat is the same hull just diffferent layouts. I have the dominator sport which is a full windshield model. The boat is very stable and made well in my opinion. I like the center rod rack in the dominator. |

| Well I think he decided on the lund explorer 1825 with a 115hp 4 stroke mercury(not sure which model). Anyone run one that can give any input? Possible thoughts on props? |

Location: Richfield, MN | I have the Mirage which is Crestliners cheaper boat. I got a 20' 3 years ago when the Crystal store was closing for a really sweet price!!!
But it is a awesome boat. If you are going to be putting little kids in a boat a deep V is a must have. I was not wanting a deep V but the boss was only gong to allow me to get a boat if it was something that was going to be safe for the whole family!!
So I ended up with the Mirage and have never regreted it ever.

Location: MN | The Stratos 1760 is a 17.5ft. fiberglass boat that has an option for a full windshield. They look like nice boats and used ones (2009+) should come within your budget. They are rated for a 75-115 outboard. It's a boat that doesn't seem to come up, possible option for you. |

Is he able to put more power behind it? I am not an expert on powering boats by any means, but a 115 would seem on the low end of what that boat could handle. I did a quick search and it looks like it's rated up to a 150. He might want to consider going with a little more power if he can. |

| Yeah I tried to tell him that as did two other dealerships, but he stuck with the 115hp cause his dealer said it would move the boat nicely so we will see. I will post how it does when he picks it up next week. |

Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | If he sticks with the 115 resale will be very tough. We have a very hard time selling anything used that is not at its rated capacity for an engine. May work just fine but folks want their boats with an engine at the max rated HP. He will take a hit at resale time. |
