| Over the years I've had good success banging cranks off the bottom particularly in the fall on shield lakes. Big Games, grandmas, jakes, and depthraiders have worked well. Only the depthraider has shown durability and longevity. The lips are done after a week or so of banging rocks on the others. Lips usually loosen up or break, bodies leak, causing the lure to perform poorly.
What been your experience? Are there other lures that compare in durability to the depthraider and still catch fish? |

Location: Apollo, PA | Go to Kyles website bigwoods.com and he has a multitude of bottom bouncers that will hold up. Hosebaits are probably the best for bouncing in my opinion.
Built like tanks, also Fishall's 12"er, and i believe Newman has a good one. |

| There are options with a metal lip you need to look at. The metal will even wear but not as badly. |

| Raiders seem to hold up best for me. They still get beat to hell, but they don't break. Usually. |

| Thanks for the props Pikiespawn. A clarification on the web address though, it's www.bigwoodmuskylures.com
That other address will get you no where...
I would lean towards the metal lips for serious contact with rocks. We currently carry 5 styles of metal lip crankbaits in 43 colors from makers like Hosebait, Supernatural Big Baits and Newman Lures. They are all very well made and virtually indestructible!
We also carry Mike king's Deep Threats that have a super thick lexan lip that can take a beating and soon will be carrying the new Lucky 13 from Pearson Plugs that has a serious, thick lexan lip and is through wire. |

| Try the "Leo Lures"! Hand made and tough! The "Shayla shad" has nice action!
