| Actually, I'm a little disappointed in the paint on the fire tiger I bought. If I buy another one it will be the red horse.
For those who don't know the colors, key on the following link and place cursor over each color to get a better view.
colors and specs.....

Location: oswego, il | I bougbht one last october. I bought the bright green/black back one. About the closest color to the bullfrog color. I already have had fish up on the bait. Awesome bait but I do wish they had a black one or at least more black on the bait but it is still going to get alot of throwing time. |

| Black=scuff up the body a bit and spray paint ! just figure out what color tail you want when you buy it as you can't paint the tail |

| Maybe try covering the area you want black with some black prism tape? I found a roll of the stuff on eBay last year - it held up pretty well under water. As far as black paint, there's a "hand hammered" type of paint out there, for like $8.00 a can, and it's either Krylon or Rust-o-leum I think? It's available in black, and some other very low-key colors (no orange, unfortunately!) and the finish is somewhat "plastic-like", and holds up very well. |

Location: Maryland | I received my whopper ploppers today from M.T.O.com and i must say the first look at the design is magnificient. The flexible tails are nice! I will be throwing the crap out of them this season! |

| I do some river fishing where casts tight to shore are important. Some times tight to shore means...ooops.... on shore. The flexible tail would be a nice feature for that issue. The other hard tails tend to bend and break. I was watching a you-tube video with footage of a whopper plopper coming in and it seems to roll onto its side at a medium retrieve. Of the people that have used them does it roll over at higher speeds or run true no matter what? |

| Whopper Ploppers do roll slightly. I don't think it is a big deal. The only tailbaits I have used that did not roll over were Lee Lures Water Choppers. The front hook is dropped down so it acts like a keel weight. I wouldn't let it rolling over slightly stop you from buying any. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Mine rolled a tad but not at my preferred speeds. The thing that concerned me was the amount of time it took to get the lure 'running'. If a long cast was made and reel engaged imediately(as I prefer to do), the plopper would often travel under water for a spell, sometimes quite a while, depending upon the water conditions.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the action of the lure, and the fact that the rubberized tail 'came back' to shape every time. I had purchased the lure for river fishing for reasons stated above, rivers where I need the lure working immediately upon starting the retreive. Again, it isn't a huge deal and won't affect more than a bit of my confidence until I get a fish or two on it. It will be simply shifted to lake duty instead, where I am not in such a hurry. |
