Good reel for baits under 1-2oz. This reel is ABU price point reel.

the reels going too be mainly be used by my cousin when he goes with me u to throw bucktails like mepps mags,killers,blue fox bucktails and smaller jerks and cranks.

That reel has a 5.9:1 gears so it can't be used on hard pulling baits. Baits like Mepps, small jerks, U should be find.

I would go with the C3. The bcx is below the Kalex.

I think I'd buy some older used Abu's off Ebay. Have them serviced, and install an instant anti reverse bearing-and have two anti-reverses.

The older ones had metal cam parts inside. Not that I have had problems yet with the newer reels either.

Personally I can't wait to try an offshore.

I would stay away from the BCX, i got one and used it maybe 2 hours, it was slipping and wouldnt reel while throwing a depth raider, maybe ok for bass, but not muskie
