i am looking a boat that has a 2005 200 hp etech that blew up last summer and had brand new power head pistons and the works put in last june. From anyone else's experiances once these motors are updated are they good motors? it was done by riverside marine remanufacturing incorperated.

dehno23,

The motor should be just fine, in canada you buy and extended warrenty up to 3 years on the used etec's, don't know if its the same in the states. You have to be a new owner of a used motor, you can't add the extend warrenty if you already own one that the warrenty has expired on. Not sure why the program is like that, but it is.
