Thanks to Slamr and Helpers. Had a great time sharing stories with old friends and met alot of new friends as well. It was nice to put Muskie First Log-ins to actual faces. Always fun to buy, sell, and Swap - 'cause that's what it's all about. Thanks to all the Sponsors as well - Love my Okuma hat that I won in the raffle. Hope the food drive was a success. ** Swoop **

No pictures?

Must have been a "what happens here, stays here" kind of event.

I had a GREAT time at this year's swap. Thank you Slamr and everyone else involved! Swapping is so much fun, everyone is really cool, and it's something I'll look forward to each year. I made out like a bandit, and was lucky to win an Okuma 9-3 Telescopic rod!

I had another great time! Thank you M1/Slamr for all your work in keeping this swap meet running strong, and for its good cause.

Swoop, it was nice seeing & talking with you & your wife. Thanks for the nice HR, (that's 3 years in a row) LOL!

I had a great time too. I will say though that was the earliest the swap and bar time ever ended though. I am sure the packers game ended the swap early and then everyone left when the game was over. U sually the musky guys will close the place. I was the last musky person to leave. Just in time too, an old guy singing "I kissed a Girl and I liked it" with a small coyote suck puppet.

The swap was awesome and I once again found some great deals and got to talk to some of the best musky people around.

You have not lived until you've seen an old man singing karaoke with sock puppets. Personally, I think Kermit the Frog was more entertaining than the coyote, but that's just me. All the Sconnies left after the Packer Game, and that's when the fun started. Yeah, we sure know how to party it up down here, LOL

This is a great event and I look forward to it every year havent missed one yet
but I have to say peoples expectations on prices have gotten a little out of whack,,I go to about 5 musky swaps a year and the usual price range on baits is between $5-$10 with the exceptions being trueglides, hughes rivers and large trolling baits,,I saw one guy seling pacemakers for $30 and TY had wood magnums at the show in his booth for $32.50! I realize this is the USA and free enterprise but I think the prices not just the football games caused people to leave earlier

Some people overcharge early, but you can break them down if you're a good negotiator, especially during the last 15 minutes- prices fall precipitously!

I would also agree, the last 15 minutes is the time to buy. I got some great deals, trading was also more effective. I would also say that the prices of lures in general are getting way out of control. It use to be a 25 dollar bait was considered really expensive. Now it seems to be more like the norm. I'm glad I got the sickness ten years ago and not today.

So there was no suck puppet?

Totally missed that!! LMAO!

I think maybe Todd ought to keep his suck puppet to himself, eh?

Ah yeah, trades def. worked better than buying.  A friend was particularly stubborn about wanting 20 for a DDD he had custom painted 3 times.  I said, the bottom layers offer me no added value!!  lol  Well at the very end, he begrudgingly let it go for 15.  Still more than I wanted to pay,    but I had to have that DDD!!!

I don't know Jeff, if I had to guess, I'd say it's an earlier Hot Perch pattern.

It was a good swap. It is a big part of the chicago show experience... We need name tags next year, and I am getting there at 5... My location sucked... Great seeing all the regulars. Frank, Chas, Martin, and many others.

I think that one is Sunburst. Very good color for us.
