They don't fight in the net, they just lay there. |

Location: Bloomington, MN | That sure was a gosh darn long fight! Thanks for posting and congrats. of such a huge fish. Your partner could'nt have stuck that fish any better. I don't care for the music, but I doubt that ABBA or Herb Alpert would of made it any nicer. |

on that Dawg? Cut off in the net after the catch? Or fished that way intentionally?

I don't understand the reasoning of putting this fish in the livewell?
Great fish tough... a beaut, congrats
Well we don't know how long the fish was struggling in the net being unhook so I'm guessing it is just for helping the fish recover. |

I don't understand the reasoning of puting this fish in the livewell??? It obviusly did not need to re-coup after that fight??
Is it all about advertising??? The Boat, with the Big livewell??
Great fish tough... a beaut, congrats

I'm thinking the same thing. As noted earlier, there was no front hook on the lure, so there was probably some footage that we didn't see while they cut off the front hook. My guess is, this fish was pinned pretty good, and it might have taken a little time to get her unhooked. Also, a 55 is a lot of fish to fit into a net, and a whole nother thing to try to keep their head underwater. The bigger they are, the longer it takes to recover. That, and they probably wanted some time to get their high-fives, hugging, and shaking bodies to cool down a bit. Anyways, did it hurt the fish? If anything, it did it some good. If you've got a revival tank to pump oxygen directly into the fish's face, why not use it?
Spence - That was some awesome footage. I especially like the part right before the fish goes into the net, her mouth is wide open while she's trying to shake it. Great chatting with you at the show, and I hope you booked up some trips for this year. I'll be getting a hold of you soon! |

Location: N.FIB | my guess would be the fish was in the livewell for measurements, length and girth, also I`m sure it helped the fish revive better before taking it out for pics.nice footage and what a great fish to get on video |

Location: Pinckney, Michigan | A gerat fish! I believe that it was put in the live well for a number of reasons but one being that they were trying to locate a certified scale while the fish was chillin. That was the story in the origianl post. We were actually fishing the same drift, roughly 200 feet behind them when they caught the big fish. A very foggy day but heard the excitement. |
