Hopefully someone will have an answer for me... I am in contact with an older gentleman
who is selling a (he thinks) a 2007 Mercury 9.9 Mercury Four stroke.....He said the motor is like new and does not know if it is a Long or Short shaft motor...He can not measure it, and I am about 4 to 5 hours away from him. He does have the Numbers on the Motor from his receipt when purchased a few years ago. Does anyone know how to tell by the numbers??????
The Numbers are OR205826 and 1F10201FK Thank You

Hiya,

I would bet it is a short shaft model. Here is a link I found after a quick google search using only the numbers you listed:

http://www.boatpartssource.com/pages/customcatalogs/viewproductdeta...

Hopefully this is enough information for it...

Good luck on it..

Steve

Yes, that's the correct. The 20 stands for 20 inch shaft.
