Location: In a shack in the woods | Mine wouldn't be a Muskie vacation. I live in vacation land next to some of the top lakes in the nation. It would be peacock bass in south America, lake el salto for bass, tarpon, or grayling in the northwest territory. |

Location: where the fish are... | two part trip, run up to Vilas for a week and pound the big waters, then leave to run to vermillion or lotw for another week. That would be the way to go for me, mid summer. |

| Last 2 weeks of Sept. and 2 weeks into Oct. at AML would be like a small slice of Muskie Heaven! You would be fishing potential World Record waters at the perfect time to get them to eat! Please take me with you! LOL!

Already starting to plan and get excited about it for the coming summer.
Six weeks on Lake Vermilion at the cabin July/August.
Already thinking about some ways/spots to beat the pressure and catch a PB.
No other place I'd rather be! |

Location: Lake of The Woods | Move To LOTW and open Canada's best Muskie shop. By a piece of property on Crowrock and build a outpost. Fish Eagle in October and run to River X late in season. |

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | I'm in Vilas all the time it seems, so the last vacation I would take would be a muskie vacation. Alaska multi-species, Brazil, explore Russian pike fishing, sharks/tarpon untouched off Eastern Africa, that stuff...won't be happening anytime soon.
But back to reality, muskies at Herbie's or LOTW, for me aesthetics still count for something. While I love trolling, big Ontario fish on walk-the-dogs is hard to beat.

Location: Johnsonville, Wisconsin | I have to second Rowan Lake. Terrific water, BIG fish and food and lodging to die for .
I've been there a few times and wish that I could visit every year. Late July / early August.
Best fun ever: a hailstorm hitting a metal roof while my son and I played cribbage in a comfortable cottage after catching BUKKO pike and Muskies just before the storm.

Location: Nielsen's Fly-In Lodge, on Rowan Lake | I am glad to see that someone has mentioned Rowan Lake. Yes, you can't get there by road but, the Muskies are there. Lots of them and big ones. You hear about all the other great Muskie waters and all the fish and that's because everyone can drive there and you see lots of boats and lots of pressure and Muskies swimming around with Rollie & Helen's cataloge in there back pocket. Truly there are giants on Rowan Lake with no pressure, no boats, lots and lots of spots and yes we do have a lodge there and it is a business. You really should just come and see what Rowan Lake has to offer. You will say why I haven't I come to experience this place until now. THESE WATERS WILL HAUNT YOU!

| I think taking the month of August and September and casting on the St Lawrence river would be my dream. Someday I hope to go there but it's so far from home. Second would be the same on some canadian trout water. Rowan, Eagle, Pipestone or even Lac Suel (even though it isn't trout water). Third will be what I did last season and I'm hoping to do this coming summer. Just hit multiple minnesota hawg factories... but with like all summer and fall. |

| Drive from Missouri to Alaska, spending some time on the Alaskan highway. Spend the summer in Alaska doing whatever the heck I want. There are a couple of Rainbows from my last trip that I still think about, along with the crazy king battles and coming not quite nose to nose with a bear. Man I love that place. Fish my way through Wyoming or Montana, or both, on the way back. I mapquested it. Only 4400 miles each way without detours or side trips.

| Well, if we are talking a true "ultimate muskie vacation", and not, "where is the best place to spend a week this season," then...
A loaded houseboat with a semi-trailer standing by to move it from LOTW, Lac Seul, Eagle, and maybe a few others. Wait, are houseboats allowed on Eagle with the no boating after dark law? Either way, I'm pretty sure I'd be fine with the houseboat sitting on LOTW from the end of May, until the end of October, and just exploring different sections of the lake.
A trip to Rowan would be very nice, and is certainly in my future, just not in the immediate one.

Location: Tower, Lake Vermilion | For affordability, comfort and Big fish it's hard to beat Vermilion right now. The weekends are a little presured, but midweek the traffic is minimal. Lots of great spots that the tourist don't fish and lots of 50's to catch and release. My favorite time of year is August and September. Typically the best weather of the season and the fish are there to catch, all you have to do is fish.
