Hey guys, I have been going up to the Chippewa Flowage the last few years, and have not done to well up there. I was wondering if anybody could give me a few suggestions on any resorts in Northern WI that might be worth trying. Something on a smaller body of water would be ideal, maybe 5000 acres or smaller. I would be taking the family with me, my little guy wants to start musky fishing so I dont want to start on a big body of water, I want him to get the bug too!!! Not so much concerned with catching a monster just want to get him a fish. Thanks.

How about Vilas County, has just about every type of lake and size you would need. I have stayed at a really nice private cabin on North Twin in northeastern Vilas county. There is docking available on the property and you can also trailer your boat and find many other excellent musky lakes within a half hour drive. Here is the website for the cabin http://www.blueloonhideaway.com

Try the Golden Rule Resort on Placid Lake (Tiger Cat Flowage) just north of the Chip. Small action lake for muskies & bass.

I would second the tiger cat. great action for muskie northern bass. we take our boys out there and they have a great time. a lot of other lakes close by and it's not too far away from the chippewa flowage. Maybe check on some other resorts that are on North and South twin, I can't remember who is still open In the area.
