I have an Alumacraft 165 center console and I like it. I do wish I had gotten a tiller for the extra room. Mine is 8 years old and has held up pretty well. In hindsight I would have gotten the Navigator and gone for a boat with a broader beam and about a 90 hp motor for bigger water. At the time I thought that I would never want to fish bigger water but I was wrong. All in all it is a good boat and if you are planning to fish small and medium size bodies of water it should serve you well.

i have an 08 Navigator 165 sc. 90 Yamaha 4 stroke..pretty good for the price..i would say one of the best overall values for the features you get compared to the price. nice wide beams.. easy to handle on and off the trailer by yourself... easily towed - dont need a big truck to tow it....seems to be very bouyant - what i mean is that is seems to really bounce up and down in choppy waves alot more than other boats i have been in - which takes its toll on the people in the boat after long hours...i will be selling it in the next few months for the navigator 175 with a 150 4 stroke.

i've got a 165 magnum tiller and love it, tough boat, takes the waves although it's a little bit wet at times, love the layout and all the room it offers, if i wouldn't have got a great deal on a ranger earlier this season i'd have had many many more seasons on my alumacraft.

I have the 165 dominator and I love it. I have a 90 etec on it. Took it on lake Michigan in about 3-4 ft waves and did well no problems. Anything bigger I don't want to be out in. If you venture out on a big pond make sure you stay in sight of shore. I also keep a extra pump ready to go with leads attached. This boat should handle just about anything you want to fish as long as your using your head.if you have any questions pm me.

I have the same boat.... year, model, hp etc...
What size lakes do you fish most of the time?
How much are they asking? and where?
Any specific questions yo have about the boat?

After using mine for 2 full seasons, on lakes anywere from 300 acres to about 40,000... I'll say my only real complaint is how light it is... It drifts a little fast when its really windy(20mph+), but that shouldn't be a suprise with a 16'5" aluminum boat....

My good friend Josh has one. Pretty cool boat. I like the room and workability of upgrades and tinkering. Never fished it myself, but I like working on it, and it looks like a fine boat.

I've got a 2000 Navigator 165 tiller with a 50 Merc 4-stroke. I bought it used in 2004 for about $7600. You may be able to talk the seller down a bit.

I like mine. If I had bought it new, I would have maxed the motor with a fuel-injected 60 HP. The 50 HP gets around 30 MPH with just me and my gear and a couple MPH less with another guy.

I like the extra floor space of the tiller and the control I get trolling. I like the narrow gunnels on the older Navigators. Makes it easy to clamp on Down East rod holders.

I get wet in big waves, but I don't feel unsafe. I've had it on LOTW, Rainy, Eagle, and Vermilion.
