| I have my musky reels spooled with 65# Tuff Line which is a white/grey color.
We were up to Lake of the Woods last week and I was fishing with a buddy who had his reels spooled with 20# test clear mono. I was in the front of the boat, he was in the middle. We both were throwing bucktails to the same spots and he smoked my butt on follows and catches.
Have you noticed if the light/whitish color of these superlines makes a difference on fish seen or caught?
Thanks! |

| I use the same line just a higher pound test, and i spooled my fathers reel with it also, 11 fish later his best being a 50 inch beast, put my mind at ease as to the color of the line. Hopefully the musky is focused on the lure itself and not on the line, havent caught to many muskies on the front of my lures. Waters fished are mostly stained, as to wich i believe would make the line more visible than a clear water lake, so i would say that it hasnt much effect on the fish. Just my opinion. Stinky nets to all and to all a good night.[8)] |

| I have caught muskies with:
white/black tuff line
white whiplash
green whiplash
clear mono
green power pro
camo spiderwire muskie braid
I am by far not a pro. But I don't think it makes a difference. |

| PW...
For the most part I agree with the others...
Some variables in your situation between you and your buddy may have been:
Color/size of bucktail
Type of blade
The speed of retreive/depth you were bringing it in.
The action of the retreive...sometimes pulsating the retreive to make the hair/rubber flair makes all the difference. Some anglers do this and don't even know it.
Did he have a trailer/twister tail and you didn't or vise versa?
Was there a scent difference? Skanky tails put in tight boxes wet get a moldy smell to them..or did you have mosquito repellent or oil/gas on your hands or bait.
Sometimes they will take after the second bait and not the first, don't know why but I know it happens...
I understand your frustration...been there.
I used to shy away from white lines but for several years now I've use Cortland Spectron black spot and origional Tuff that are salt and pepper colored.. I don't feel it has a negative effect..

| Thanks! Maybe I won't give up on it yet. |

| Line color doesn't matter, I want the fish to follow the line and find my bait. Just kidding, I think.
Good luck, Murph |

| Murph....
Ya think we could get the line mfg. to print....
"Tasty bait this way >>>>"
about every 8' on the line, kinda like caution tape.....
Just don't spool it up backwards....[] [] [;)] .
