| Is anyone using this update in there 27? I've heard that this update causes the issue of not reading depth in shallow water.....lowrance says to run the unit in shallow mode to combat the problem.... Has anybody done this with there unit and does it correct the problem? Not gonna update if the problem isn't resolved thanks. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Yes. You must change it to the shallow water mode, this will alleviate any problems. I ran the 2.5 on the last four 27's and a couple 520's that I owned prior to the HDS without an issue. |

| on any of the lowrace units you are suppose to run in shallow water mode. shallow water mode is made for 50 feet or less. I had grampa joe rig my boat and that is what he recommended! shallow water mode is what you should be running all of the time. |
