I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this Boat or has one. I found one for sale locally and it looks like a real nice boat. It is a 1997 or 1998 and has a really well maintained 150 Mercury on it, he said the boat has little use and was used in a few Bass Tournaments . I have always had Aluminum Boats like Lunds, Crestliners, Sea Nymphs, and an Aluminum Ranger 207. This Ranger will possibly be my first Fiberglass boat, can a kicker motor 9.9 be mounted on these fiberglass boats.. It does have a great casting deck for and aft. Please anyone who can give me a little advise will be Great. it appears that Casting will be great, but I do like to troll and that's what got nervous a little.... I am wondering if I should just stick to Aluminum and have the motors side by side. Thanks Mike Sr.

A kicker will not mount on a bass boat very well. I'm fishing out of an r70 and like it. I will not go back to an aluminum boat after running glass. If you feel the need for a kicker I'd look into the walleye series rangers

Location: Hopefully on the water
I ran the R70 for a couple of years. Very simliar to the R80. Decks are great for castinf. Rough water wasn't as much fun even on lakes 5000 acres. If you are doing any trolling I persoanlly don't think it would be very comfortable or user friendly for it. Just my thoughts on it. The boat itself road nice, fast, and low to the water. It trailered great and is still to this date the easiest loading boat I have owned. I do not recall being able to mount a kicker motor. But with all the stuff that is out there now adays it may be able to be done.

Just a little more input for you. Contact Ranger because they will be able to tell you if the transom can handle additional weight. I called Ranger to find out if I could put a kicker on my 681 Ranger and they said that it could only handle a 6 hp or less which really is not enough power to push my boat.
