| This is always fun,
What kind of boat do you have?
I have a 2001 Tuffy Esox Deep V single console with a 225 Merc Opti, a 9.9 four stroke and Minn Kota and Lawrance electonics.
If anyone needs a boat let me know. Here where I work a local resident did not want his boat anymore. So he tied the back of his boat to a loading dock post and pulled it off his trailer. Left it laying in the parking lot, so if anyone needs a 1969 speedboat with a inline six (not in working order) its here for the taking. It might float, but I dont know that for sure.[] |

| |
|
| I have a 1990 Esox deep V Dual console, powered by a 225 Mercury opti Max, a 4 stroke 9.9 Merc Kicker, with Raymarine electronics and a Minn Kota Genesis Trolling motor on the bow.
At home up North, I have a 1760 Esox DEeep V powered with a Mercury XR6 150, Raymarine electronics, and a Minn Kota Auto Pilot on the nose, and Minn Kota Vantage Electric Kicker on the transom.[:)] |
|
| |
|
| I have a '91 Tuffy Walleye Rampage with a 25 Merc Tiller, Merc Thruster bow mount, Minn Kota 3 HP transom mount(hasn't been on the boat in 8 years!), Lowrance X-85(rear)X-70(front)Global Nav310, and a Kay Dee Trailer.
This boat has served me very well. But it is now just too small with the kids getting older. Not bad with two people in it, but add my 10 year old, and it gets pretty tight. I haven't even thought of adding the 5 year old daughter too! So I have decided this will be my last in this boat. Next year will hopefully find me in a Esox Deep V 1760C[:sun:]. But I gotta get out in one first.
Tight Lines, and safe boating,

This is one incredible boat....It is very possible it may be for sale real soon,
I have been fighting a very painful nerve and muscle disorder in my neck and shoulder for the past 18 - 20 months. (myofacial nerve syndrome)
Thought we had it under control but it has flaired up as a result of being fishing 3+ times per week and has had me sidelined for the last 2 weeks. It forced me to quit guiding once and kept me off the water most of the 2000 season.
I'm keeping the faith but as of now closing my guide business and having to fish for a species that requires allot less casting may become reality all too soon[:((]
If you have a used esox magnum or a tin boat I may consider your trade but prefer to stay with Tuffy if possible.

| My dad and I use a 2001 Crestliner Tournament Series with a Yamaha 115 Horsepower Four Stroke. We have the Minn Kota Vantage, 74 lbs. thrust, on the back. The long telescoping handle and thumb speed control allow one to keep both feet free when casting. Next year we will probably put an Auto Pilot on the front. As for depthfinders, we have a Lowrance X65 in the back and a Zercom LPG 2000 (liquid paper graph) on the front. |

| Well, I bought my first boat this year.
1992 Grumann 14SS/SP
1999 25HP Merc electric start
aftermarket trim/tilt
12V Evinrude foot control on front
Eagle Ultra on front with Impulse 2801 on rear
Has flat floors, front deck with a small storage area and a livewell for walleyes and panfish.
Runs 32 mph with 1 person and 29 with my 11 year old along. Great for 1 person but a little tipsy with 2 people moving around. Just gotta watch it.
Wife told me when I bought it "It'll make a good starter boat." Hopefully that means that I will have a new(er) one after next year.

| Mine is certainly not boast-worthy,especially in comparison to most of the other rigs I see listed here, but I''ll throw it in the hat anyway:
- Forrester V165 tiller (they really did make fishing boats for a couple years, this one a rivet-free aluminum deep-V with wide gunwales, elevated front deck and acres of storage)
- 2000 model Mercury 60 hp tiller
- 24V, 65 lb thrust MinnKota Maxxum
- Vexilar in front, Bottomline 320 in back
- Custom made drop-in rear casting platform
- Guest on-board charger
- EZ-Loader roller trailer (between the deep-V hull and the tilting roller guides on the trailer, even an idiot like me can load this thing blind-folded in a heavy cross-wind.
I''d love a fiberglass rocket, and have nearly done so several times but I just can''t bear to part with this boat. So I''ve decided to save for a few more years and keep her. I would like something very similar to the Stratos 219 (I realize they don''t make them anymore). Maybe by the time I''m ready to buy Genmar will have ironed out their plans for the Javelin MSX series.
Regards,
Jeff

| Hi Group Musky!
I have a 1996 Ranger 681VS Fisherman with a Merc 125. Nothing but praise for the rig for all kinds of fishing. It tows safely & well on the highway. The trailer has disc brakes, which adds to my piece of mind. Remember laws governing trailers differ from state to state. Some require trailer brakes while other do not, but no state has laws that prohibit trailer brakes. Be especially careful when you trailer out of state without brakes, the money you save could be another rod & reel. My rig is easily launched & retrieved by a single person. A dealer to service the entire rig who is nearby is important to me. While my hometown is the home of Tuffy, no close dealer eliminates the boat from my consideration. Just like my outboard is dictated by the boat dealership.
Good fishing! Charlie B Exox

| There is no boat dealer of any kind in Lake Mills anymore. | I have a 96 1750 Fish Hawk with a 2001 70 hp Evinzuki tiller. Just put the motor on 2 weeks ago, I love it, my wife loves it, it's a wonderful thing.
For electronics, I have an LMS 350 and an X-75 (both for sale, so I can get a Zercom LPG) and a Vexilar FL-8. I also added two 12 volt accessory plugs so that I can run my Garmin handheld and plug in a cell phone or whatever. I am thinking about wiring all my batteries to charge off the big motor. It puts out a trememndous amount of power, and I would think that by keeping all the batteries constantly charged that they would last longer (before needing replacement.)
I added a 74 lb MK hand control bow mount trolling motor this Spring. Does the job nicely. Have a 24v tiller for back up.
This winter, I plan on wiring 12-volt amber interior lighting and adding 4-6 Down East rod holders.
I had thought about selling my boat and getting an 1850 FH with a 115 yam 4 stroke, but I really like my rig and with the 4 stroke, like it even more.

| I use 3 boats for my musky fishing needs, all of which might amount to in $, the outboards most of you have on yours.
I run a 1984 Ozark(poor mans Esox Magnum). It's 17 feet long and completely rebuilt with composite floor and livewells(60", and a 20 gallon baitwell), 40 horse Yamaha tiller, Minnkota Autopilot, Eagle ultra Classic in the back, and Vexilar fl-8 up front.
My other rigs are both for river running. One is a 14 foot Alumacraft from the 50's that I throw in the back of my pickup to go where I don't want you to follow, and the other is a 14' jon for floating the rivers up north. |

| I guess I'm the only one here with a Cajun (boughtout and shut down by Genmar (Ranger)) 21' fish and ski, with a big Johnson (200hp). Garmin 160 and an Eagle Fish Easy (it finds the bottom) are the electronics I run. Nothing like a flat bottom boat to get you from point A to point B in record time [] so long as the tonka pigs (not from Odessey) aren't looking for something to do. It's too bad they shut Cajun down, there's lots of innovations and features that aren't found in any of the existing manufacturers today. |

| Todd, great tagline! :)
Anyway, I run the following:
2000 19' ProCraft SuperPro 190 single console, excellent boat, dry and smooth running in rough water, with as much storage as I could ask for, big rod lockers, huge livewell, 50 gallon fuel tank for long running and FAST!!! Getting there should be half the fun. The boat is equipped with a...
PinPoint 3700 trolling motor (makes boat control a non-issue)
PinPoint 7520 (?) locator on bow and console (superb resolution and detail)
Bob's Machine Shop 10" setback hydraulic jackplate (makes running in shallow water and power loading at shallow landings a breeze, not to mention that I have better boat control in varied conditions)
2000 175 Mercury EFI outboard (surprisingly fuel efficient when not running at WFO)
2000 ProCraft bunk trailer (super easy to load/unload and trails nicely)
pulled by a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with the DuraMax Diesel/allison transmission drive train.
A VERY nice combo for serious fishing/hauling.
