Football is over and I wanted to take my two boys out for a final musky hunt on Squirrell the Friday after Thanksgiving and fish for Frid, Sat & Sun. Any chance of getting out at that time or are all the lakes going to start to freeze up. Don't want to pull the boat up only to sit in the cabin all weekend. What do thinkn our chances are of finding open water on Squirrell or surrounding lakes? |

Latest preports from just North of there: (Presque Isle area)
Skim ice on many smaller lakes in the morning, still fishable if you're willing to break some ice on the way out, larger lakes still open.
5 day forecast:
Mon: 34/21
Tue: 22/18
Wed: 30/17
Thu: 21/12
Fri: 20/15
I'd expect most of the smaller lakes to be locked up by the end of the week. You may find some open water on the larger lakes for the weekend, but with nighttime temps on the teens and days not getting above freezing it might be a crapshoot.

Location: Hopefully on the water | The only thing that is saving the big lake from complety freezing over is the wind. If it calms down I think in a day most of the lake will lock up for the hard water. If you do find opn water good luck this weekend. |
