Location: Michigan | I have a gift card to Dicks Sporting Goods and am in need of a new musky reel. I went there today and the Shimano Corvalus is the only real musky reel they have, except for a couple in the $200 range. Has anyone used this reel and is it worth getting? |

Location: Bloomer, Wi | i have 3 of them and they have been a solid all around reel. my only problem with them after 4 seasons with them is the freespool button sticking down, you have to take the side plate off hold the lever up put it back togetheror something like that. most time i just need to tighten the side screw and it doesnt do it for a very long time. but all in all very nice reel.

| I have a friend that uses one all year long. Seems to hold up, but if you can, spend another $25 and get the cardiff. Pretty much the same reel but has more metal instead of plastic. I have a few of those and they are good for the price. They may not have them in stock but ask if they can get one. |

| I have three of them as well. Doing a cost/benefit analysis, I am satisfied with this reel. It compares favorably with an Abu Garcia 6500C3 I have. I wonder, however, how much more distance I would get on a cast with a significantly more expensive reel. I don't know. Generally, in this world you get what you pay for. Although I will say I am confident that the Corvalus would crank in any fish I was fortunate enough to hook. |
