Location: Elk River,MN | I looked through some past post didn't really find a great answer IMO. I have a Abu Big Game 7000iHSN that's 2 years old and I need a new worm gear. Is there a place I could call or a website out there that people have used that is reliable? (Besides "Mike's Reel Repair's Website)
Thanks,
Mike |

Location: Yahara River Chain | Call directly to Abu-Garcia. If you want you could send it in and they would fix it for free as most likely it would still be under warranty. To find the number check out the web site www.abu-garcia.com and there you can even download reel drawings and parts lists. Also if you order, you may want to get an extra worm gear and pawl (they should be changed together) and keep a back up or two. make sure you have your reel with you if they want to know what model it is. That info is on the bottom of the reel seat. |

| What Gerard said. Pure fishing is pretty good about sending parts right away, too. Last time I ordered I had everything 5 days later. You can get the part list off your reel schmatic if you have it, or the website as diagrams as well.
Second vote for keeping a spare worm gear and pawl in the tackle box somewhere. |

Location: MN | I ordered parts multiple times from Abu and usually received them in a week or so. Great customer service and very reasonable shipping price.

| I agree, Abu customer service is great. You can get on their website and get reel schematics if you don't have it. The model number of the reel is stamped on the bottom of the reel plate as you will notice like 5 or more schematics for a 7000 and the schematic will have the part number that you need to order. Their parts are super cheap as well, most items were under $5. If you know something is a common issue though, I would order a couple of that part when you order because if I remember correctly, they charge the same shipping up to like $25 and you can buy almost every wear part in the reel for that. Good luck, they aren't hard to get apart and work on. |

This place is one of the only authorized Abu Garcia repair shops in Wisconsin. I ordered a worm gear and pawl from him a couple of months ago and received them within two days. I was very happy about that because I do not have a bunch of extra reels and I was able to get that one going again quickly.
Especially considering there is not much of the season left, if you want the parts sooner call Bobs Rod and Reel. I guarantee you will not have to wait a week for the parts. |

| Side note: Penn is now owned by Abu's parent company, "Pure Fishing" in spirit Lake Ia, so if you need parts for a Penn reel it's the same folks. |
