Don't know the man. But from what I've heard? Well, I don't know what he'll catch, but I'd bet he will be out fishing long after most guys have their boats put away for the season.

He's probably not even on the water yet. That guy waits until he has to break ice in order to roll troll. I also heard he rows against the current and the wind all day long and eats a dozen eggs with a huge stack of pancakes and a steak for breakfast and a whole deer he kills with his bare hands each day for supper.

He was on the water today . He was fishing before moon rise and left the lake about 2 hours after. He was row trolling on a lake I would not guess he would be on. some friends sen him at the boat landing.

I saw him last 2 weekends ago rowing into a 20 mph wind. I was complaining about how difficult it was to control my boat and that I wasn't going to have enough battery to make it all day, when Gelb went past me and waved.

What a way to make a guy feel like a ####y. Thanks old man.

Tom Gelb doesn't sleep. He rows.

When Tom Gelb rows, the boat doesn't move forward. The lake moves back.

If he's still in the boat he was a couple years back it is a glass row troller he was trying to get built/marketed through Heckels. Nice rig, but a little spendy.

I pray to have half the stamina and a hundreth of his trophy catches when I get to his age!
He absolutely deserves all he catches. He was catching muskies long before most of us were twinkles in our parents eyes.....and with equipement that was stoneage technology compared to that available to all of us today.
He is a treasure in the muskie world.

Back in Oct 2008 (MF Presque Isle Outing) I was out on Presque Isle lake & saw a row troller out in the middle - nasty day. Thought I'd cruise out & see what he was fishing over, and found a bunch of deep water humps w/ fish around them. Took a couple of snapshots w/ my Humminbird 997SI. Didn't really pay any attention till I got home & down loaded them. Then I noticed this strange image. The white streaks/spots in the left side SI image are some pretty good sized fish - muskies or really big walleyes.
But then I zoomed in on the down scan image-> the strange triangle & here's what I saw.

Have fun!
