Have an opportunity to buy these on sale. Have never tried one; but am tempted by the standard silver blade, black tail. Is this a recommended bucktail lure? What do the experienced folks think?

Buy em, they catch fish. Pretty durable too, have a couple that have caught multiple fish and don't need to be rewired.

I've had good luck with them as well. Black hair with orange blade is one of my top producers. Other than the fact they are so small, they are also lightweight, which makes them good fall bucktails because they can be reeled very slow and still ride within 4' of the surface. That's my .02.

I've had great luck on them, especially the Mag 800 in Sunset.
