Need to replace my trailer winch for my Ranger 620. What brand/model do you guys use to horse up these heavy boats on steep ramps?

Hiya,

I suppose I could be sarcastic and say the big motor..

All humor aside, I would think anything fulton in a size that is capable of handling your rig. If you go undersize, you will be working really hard to winch on yourself... Best to err on the side of bigger here, which will make for an easier time hand-winching if you need to...

+1 for Fulton. Avoid the cheap Sea-Sense, spend an extra $20 and the Fulton should last you the life of the boat.

HaHa, I'm talking about shallow ramps where the water is down and I can't just motor up and clip, and drive off. Mille Lacs ramps were shallow this summer requiring quite the winch. I have a Fulton now, but what size? Horrible shallow ramps smoked the gears on it. 1,800 or 2,500 lb? What size are the 621 guys using to pull up theirs?

Hiya,

If it fits... I would suggest the biggest you can get, like the one on the link below...

Dual speed, and heavy duty for the big boat. Might as well make the job easier on yourself...
