| Fished on Sat. for 3 hours, got 3 fish. Nothing huge this weekend but was able to put some other boats on fish and help some fellow angers get their 1st fish of the year.

Location: Contrarian Island | muskies were on the move and eating in Vilas for AGrimm and I this weekend....we had to have Sled make a special delivery of suckers after going thru 15 on day 1....here is one of the prettier fish I've had in the boat.. boated some real fattys.... biggest in boat was 46"... topwaters and suckers were the bait of choice....who says muskies don't eat topwaters in 52 degree water temps
Big thanks to Sled for the sucker shipment! we owe you 1...

| Got out Saturday on Pewaukee along with about 50 other boats. Very windy, tough to fish and maintain control of suckers.
Talked to lots of guys, suckers were being hit and dropped at a record rate. Water was 62 degrees. We had 6 follows, one sucker hit that didn't stick and then I got hit on the figure 8 by this little guy.
Only 34 inches, but at least one went in the boat. |

Location: Kildeer, IL | Our results were similar to BNelson's. We could only get our hands on 7 suckers so we couldn't have quite the luck that he did. We got six in the boat with 4 over 40. At one point on Friday we lost or caught three muskies jigging dead suckers.
We didn't have any action on artifcials. We only had 4 follows all weekend. None of the follows hit the sucker (that we know of).
In the mornings we saw fish in the weeds in 7 feet of water. In the afternoon we saw them on mid-lake rock humps.
We were also fishing in Vilas.

Location: Muskegon Michigan | We fished the 16th off the Thames with a friend on his 27 foot Sea Ray. Went 7 for 11 with only a 42 and 41.5 as big fish. No pics as we dont take pics of fish unless they are 45 or better. We trolled an area of St. Clair known to produce large fish this time of year. At times we were in as shallow as 7 feet. All fish came on Nils 10 inch lures trolled at 3 to 3.5 mph gps and all were taken off the Planer boards. Top color was a blue and chartruse perch we call Bluebird perch. Water was cold at 57 degrees and pretty dirty. W e spent a lot of time clearing weeds off the lines. It was work all day. Mike |
