| My uncle just purchased a cabin on Grindstone Lake. I usually take a trip to somewhere every MEA Break (Minnesota Teachers Break). This year this will occur on Oct. 21-24.
I guess what I am looking for is advice for the area. Here are my questions, feel free to pm me if you are willing to share. I have never been to this area.
Are there going to be suckers available in the Hayward Area?
What lake(s) in the area tend to have the best sucker bite?
Should I spend my time on Grindstone and Lac Courte Orielles or are there betting options? My cousin will be taking his first musky trip, I would like action, but would like chances for big fish.
Is turnover going to be a factor next week?
Thanks for any advice you are willing to share.

| Suckers are hard to find everywhere so call to Hayward bait, Pastikas, jenks, happy hooker. Grindstone and lco have giants but can be tough. Great action on spider for a first timer but no real giants there though. The Chip has decent numbers and big ones too. Good luck. |

Location: Seymour, WI | Pastikas should have all the suckers you need. LCO and Grindstone are tough lakes to begin on if you've never fished them before and also can be rough if it is windy. Lost Land, Teal, Big Siss and Sand all produced a ton of action in the Muskies Inc tourney held in Hayward two wks ago.

Location: Blaine, MN | Lost Land, Teal, Spider and Tiger Cat have many muskies but not big ones. The Chip has both. I forget the name of it but there is a bait shop at the junction of B and CC that should have suckers. Good luck!
