| Two organizations I'm a part of, Fox River Valley Muskies Inc. and The Youth Conservation Alliance hosted a fall youth Musky outing at Moose Lake, Hayward Wisconsin. My beautiful 8 year old daughter was determined to catch her first Muskie. Day was one brutal with heavy wind and rain. We had one go on a sucker but lost it at the boat. Day two was beautiful, bright and sunny and at 10 AM, the sucker rod went off and a nice Muskie broke water chasing the sucker. Once she had it, I set the hook and handed the rod to Makayla and she battled a very strong and acrobatic Muskie to the boat. After some net theatrics, she lands her first Muskie, a fat 36" fish! I am so proud of her! A few hours after lunch, she sticks her second fish of the day, a spunky 24" fish that clobbered a Mepps Musky Killer. The other girl we had in my boat, Emily, also boated two, a 36" and a 37". What a great trip!
