| Was wondering if anyone has been fishing here and how it's been, thinking of heading out tomorrow, but don't know if it's worth the long drive yet? Pm me if you prefer thanks for any info. |

| We hit the water yesterday, dang blasted sun, we fished for 10 hours, three suckers out and casting, I had three lazy follows and my buddy caught a 38in on a sucker, water temp was still 61-64*, will be back once things cool down, many floating weeds yesterday, clearing line off more than fishing most of the time. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Lots of floaters this past week but the fish have been on the feed.
Casting with a sucker or two hanging over the side of the boat has been very good. Trolling has also produced lots of fish. Water temps were mid 60's all week and a perfect time to get slimed.
Waiting for a drop can put you in the turnover time. Mid 50's to upper 50's is a tuff time to target ski's.
My clients have been getting 2 to 4 fish a night for the last month. The bite is good, enjoy it while it lasts before turnover. Once turnover is past us the fishing will get very good again.
Great weed growth this season on Pewaukee Lake. Lots of deep water weeds. The best coontail I have ever seen in deep water.
The best advice is to not target any one pattern too long. Try shallow, then outer weed edges, then main lake points, then the breaks. One of those areas will be productive. You just have to work through some spots and patterns to figure out whats best for the weather conditions that day.
I had a client out for a half day trip on the 26th for some casting and trolling. He got a 38, 36, then a 37 all in shallow water. The next night we got out the weather changed and we had to move out to deeper water to score our fish. Bob was kept asking me why we were not back where we caught the fish the night before. I explained why I changed up my pattern and showed him on the graph why we moved out. He got a 37.5, 36, 38.5 and a 40 on this half day trip. All of the fish came from deeper water than the night before. A whole different pattern because of the weather conditions we had. The point is to try different patterns till you get some sucess. Then milk that pattern out till the weather changes or the pattern dies.
When you use quick strike rigs please do not let them chew on it or wait to long before you set the hooks. Muskie are eating good now. Getting them to swallow the rig will only kill fish. Quick strike is just that QUICK STRIKE.
I don't wait at all with my rigs. Fish hits it, I hand the rod to the client and he sets the hooks.....Fish on!!!.

Location: Racine, Wi | I'm right there with Koepp. Fishing's been very good for my clients as well with multiple fish trips the past few times out. We've been doing better on meat for some reason, but blades have also been producing. The past few trips have found mid 40" fish in the bottom of the net with some shots at a couple of bigger fish that found their way off. Deep weeds have been key for us as of late on the meat while casting up to the shallower weeds and slow rolling our blades and cranks.
Like Mike said, set the hook immediately when they eat a sucker right now as they are absolutely crushing the suckers. No problems hooking up with them as they mean business. With this cool down coming in the next week or so, we may be seeing turnover in the not too far distance. |

| It is tough out there, but you can still catch fish. Stop fishing the lake like it is 2009 or you will continue to have a really tough time. |

| There is no substitute for making casts, so keep pitching. I'd say if you are fishing deep breaklines and not getting bit, try a different lure or pull up shallow. If you are fishing shallow and not getting bit, try a different bait or move out deeper. I don't mean to be sarcastic here at all...not my intention. But if your presentation isn't working, change. Sooner or later you will run into patterns that produce. I've done just fine on the lake this year. No issues here. |

| Fish outside of weed edges with dawgs and 6-7 inch twitch baits. It's been working for me. I work both east and west side. However, with warm weather I may hang up the rods until the water cools down just to be on the safe side to not overwork any muskies and end up killing them. |

| Good idea to give these fish a break! The water temp at 6pm last night was 89 in 6 feet of water in the middle of the northshore so it my be even warmer on the east and west ends. It felt like I was jumping into my bath tub!
