Location: north central wisconsin | Never thought I'd say this, but, we've had enough rain. The WI River here in wisconsin Rapids is currently at 77,780 cfs, the highest ever recorded. Average for right now is about 1,800. There has been alot of flooding, and it hasn't quite crested yet. Part of the river channel is actually running through a local paper mill, and out the office doors. At the waste treatment plant, our heads are above water, maintaining our process, but have never seen flows like this in the history of the facility. The flash boards on any local dam with them, have all broken loose. The river banks in most parts of the area are very high, but it has breached the banks in some places, closing roads, and some schools in the area.
As a side note, our club fall river outing(Consolidated Musky Club) is today. I hope nobody made the mistake of trying to go out. I'll show up with the trophy and door prizes tonight nonetheless. Perhaps someone caught a fish from the landing park, near the swing set.
a link to some photos from yesterday. The water is a bit higher today: http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?categor...

I'm upstream in Rothschild---the river is a death machine right now...going to be awhile before things settle down---we're going to be looking at chocolate milk for some time, I think. |

Location: north central wisconsin | The river crested at 78k cfs for several hours, hitting a very brief peak of 82,156 at 10:00 PM. It has steadily dropped since, and is at 61,000 +/- now. This is still well above flood stage, but coming down quite nicely, with no rain in the immediate forecast. People should be able to start cleaning out basements, and I can start fishing for the Lake Wausau Muskies that are now in Petenwell, any day.
