| Hey All,
I have seen a few discussions on here pertaining to boat cleaning and invasive species. I'm out in the Finger Lakes of NY where zebra mussels have been a problem for a while. Some lakes are also heavy with milfoil. To this end, I have the following info:
Jordan Weeks, a WI DNR fisheries biologist who co-writes for Muskyhunter Research Corner.
Jordan says the WDNR uses a 5% bleach solution to disinfect its equipment. Says it kills everything and minimizes corrosion.
Just a get a 2-3 gallon sprayer at a garden store and one should be good to go. I also re-rinse with water shortly after to further minimize corrosion. In the winter, I use one of the local manual carwashes as the garden hose is in for the winter.
Anyway, I wouldn't find any info regarding ratios, etc. and I figured that folks might be interested in the above info. I also saw posts discussing the difficulty of applying hot water, for example, and thought this info might be a good alternative.
