Why use St. Croix!

Main reason Warranty and service. On my way back from Cable I stopped at the store in Park Falls with one of my older Legends that was wounded. They would of repaired it or offered me the option of trading it in for an upgrade to an avid. No brainer! I'm very hard on my equipment so it's nice to know that you have a company that stands behind the quality of their product.

Thanks again St. Croix

St. Croix is tops for service. They have taken care of me 100% of the time.

Rod Grimme, you make the lip ripper that smokey's sells out of so fast? Those lures rock dude, can you make one about 8" long?[:p] [:p] [:p] [:p] []

I just dropped a bunch off by smokey's the other week. I'm not sure what is left. I'm hoping to get them a pile more in the next few weeks. So, you should'nt have to worry about not seeing any. Great wobble, smacked 3 fish on Namakagon on Tuesday with the 6" perch.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am not sponored by anyone, and tend to pound my equipment more than the average Joe. St. Croix(thanks Rob) has been amazing with their service with me. I won't name any names, but I won't own another rod that proclaims to specialize in the figure 8 again due to the treatment a friend and I recieved from their service dept. Kudos to St. Croix, and keep up the good work!!!

I have "Off the shelf St. Croixs" and a couple of "Gator Rods" (custom built from St. Croix blanks) made in Florida. In terms of workmanship, I would have to say that they are all terrific rods. Light with great components with the line guides (very important) put on right. Makes a big difference in casting. The weight of the rod (especially in Musky fishing) makes a big difference on your body if you are casting large plugs all day long. That's when you find out the difference between the heavier junk sold at the "Mart" stores. As a former rod maker (a hobby since the late 60s), I always swore that I would never buy a store bought rod again due to poor workmanship. However, since discovering St. Croix's quality, I no longer make my own rods. Great stuff at reasonable prices. In terms of service I can only comment on the service that I received when I recieved one broken in half via UPS. It was purchased from Rollie & Helen's. I got one back before my broken rod ever reached them!! That would never happen unless the St. Croix guys backed up their rods with a great guarantee. Kudos to both Rollie and Helen's and St. Croix for backing them up.

Back in the late sixties, I was a serious Bass fisherman and (in my opinion) used the best rods around at the time-Fenwick. Unfortunately, they started mass producing junk for awhile. These rods were made for the general public, not serious fisherman. It hurt their reputation badly in a lot of people's opinion. As a result, I began making my own rods with Lamiglass blanks and swore I would never buy a store-bought rod because they were junk. Fenwick has since returned to their quality rods (I think), but have lost my busniness and a lot of other people's business too.

When I started Musky fishing in 1996 I discovered St. Croix thanks to the boards, etc. and realized quickly the wonderful quality and service provided by their service dept. I will be using them from now on - after all, why change when you can get the quality of a St. Croix?

Muskie Kid - Your right on. I too was a Fenwick many years ago. Thye are coming back - keep the faith!

But my nod also goes to St Croix. My first rod was a bass rod 4 years ago. After 1 1/2 years, the tip snapped just under the bottom hauling in a 5 pound bass out from the weeds. ST Croix asked I send the rod in. They called me and said they were replacing my rod at no charge. The whole process took 10 days.

You just cannot beat service and customer support like that. There are other companies that will stand behind their product, like Shimano and Abu..I have not heard of too many rod manufacturers doing the same the way St Croix does.

Many of my friends and family have switched to St Croix rods and are just as happy.

Way to go St Croix!

They are the best I've ever owned. The quality is as good as the service with out a doubt!
I own 4 myself and must say they RULE!! I have a few other rod's in my arsenal that I let others use. I won't let anybody use my St.Croix's though....they're MINE!
