| Heading to the Big V next week for the first time. Anyone been out lately? Looks like the nights have been cooler and lots of rain. Any suggestions on how to approach these fish would be much apprieciated. Getting a guide would be ideal if we had the cake, but we just can't afford it. Thanks for any advice you got, plus if you know of a good spot to watch NFL football on the lake with good food would be great too. Tight lines, Dan |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Landing on the west side for the game and food, and the usual lures you would expect for late summer action. The fish will not have moved much, so expect them to be on the edges and first 30' of the weedlines and even shallower in low light and on the reef edges/breaklines and tops in low light. SO much good water.. |

Location: Minnetonka | Where are you staying? Fishing I have no idea... I would bring a cisco colored Intimidator and a handful of Cowigirls though. For food... even if you're on the west side, making the drive to Bayview Lodge outside of Tower is worth it. They've got the best menu on the lake by far. If you've eaten there, you know. Google: bayview lodge, lake vermilion

| Try some PINK x-raps for all around action---everything from bass to pike to muskies eat those darn things. September weather can really thrown some curve balls as far as the muskies go but blades and topwaters ALWAYS seem to produce the bigger fish at this time of year---fish both the weeds and rocks and you'll find fish---- and don't forget the PINK!!!!------Jobu |

| Thanks for all the advice guys. We will be staying near Mocasin point area I beleive. So Pink X-raps, I would never ever think of throwing pink. perhaps you are pulling my leg, but I am a musky fisherman and will do anything if that helps put fish in the boat. Don't know if I have ever seen a pink xrap thou. Thnals again. |

| No way Dan---I am NOT pulling your leg! I saw AL Lindner using some PINK up in Minnesota so I decided to give her a try----TRUST ME------everything swimming in Big V will eat a pink x-rap---and I mean everything. We've caught largemouth bass, pike, walleyes, perch, bluegills, smallmouth bass and muskies all tossing the raps---and they don't have to be the HUGE models either. the smaller ones have produced very well on light line. Caught my first ski on Big V--36.5 on a pinky---two days later my buddy got a 55.5 on a pink bucktail-----who knew Big V was turned on to the PINK?---Jobu |
